Community members donate their time and talent to help make these free family events possible! The Ice Cream Festival is looking for people to help with set-up, games and activities, ticket booth and greeters, as well as help with parking and volunteer check-in.

2022 ICF FAQ
PARKING: All parking including handicap parking will be at the Rockwood Office Park at 501 Carr Road and at Mount Pleasant High School at 5201 Washington Street Extension with quick shuttle rides to the festival. Busses equipped with lifts will be available for visitors with wheelchairs and large strollers.
Visitors are discouraged from parking in neighborhoods and along Washington Street Extension. Those who park in these locations are subject to towing at the owner’s expense.
ACCESSIBILITY: The Ice Cream Festival is accessible and will have handicap shuttles running from the Rockwood Office Park, but please know the ground where the event is held is grass that is bumpy and uneven and on a gentle slope. The music meadow is in full sun all-day
DOGS AND PETS: Please leave your dog and all other pets at home. This is for the comfort of fellow festival guests and your pets.
COMFORT: Rockwood has hilly, uneven ground and the music meadow is in full sun all day. Please bring your blankets and chairs for your comfort, wear sunscreen, a hat, and other sun protection. Be sure your shoes are appropriate for uneven ground.
ALCOHOL: You must be 21 to purchase and consume alcohol. Festival guests who violate this expectation will be dealt with by the New Castle County Police.
SMOKING/TOBACCO: All New Caste County parks are non-smoking. Consumption of tobacco of any kind is prohibited at this event.
BEHAVIOR: All festival guests are expected to treat fellow guests and staff with the utmost respect. Guests who are not able to remain respectful will be removed from the event by the New Castle County Police.
WEAPONS: Weapons of any kind are prohibited in New Castle County Parks. Please leave them at home.
SAFETY: Festival guests are expected to be alert and pay attention to all announcements relating to weather and safety.
INCLEMENT AND SEVERE WEATHER: In the case of bad or severe weather on the day of the event, updates will be posted on the Facebook Event Page, through Eventbrite, Instagram, and Twitter, as well as on our event hotline. Please call (302) 395-5659 for updates. For severe weather during the event, please listen to all announcements and follow instructions quickly.
