2019 Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Festival

You are invited to the Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Festival at Rockwood Park on June 29 from 12-9 p.m. The Old-Fashioned Ice Cream Festival is celebration of old-fashioned fun for the whole family. This year’s festival features the best local ice cream vendors, food, local music stage, kids activities, historic demonstrations, free museum tours, vintage marketplace by First State Flea, tour a hot air balloon, FIREWORKS at dusk, and more. Tickets are $5. Kids 12 and under are free with the purchase of an adult ticket. Free parking and shuttle from the Rockwood Office Park, 501 Carr Road.

ICF Fine Art, Homemade and Craft Vendor

Art, pottery, jewelry, crafts, toys, etc. We encourage vendors selling agricultural products, goods, crafts and food products that are grown, produced, hand-made or hand-crafted locally. The Department of Community Services reserves the right to use its discretion as it pertains to the participation and eligibility of vendors and the products sold at the Ice Cream Festival. Event Time 12 p.m.-7 p.m.

ICF Food Vendor

Food Permits: Pizza, hot dogs, sandwiches, burgers, steaks, etc. along with snack items such as soft pretzels, chips, candy, drinks, etc. Proof of liability insurance naming New Castle County as an additional insured is required, Board of Health Inspection, and Business License. Event Time 12 p.m.-7 p.m. 

ICF Ice Cream Vendor Permits

Ice Cream, popsicles, water ice, frozen novelties along with drinks and snack items such as chips, pretzels, drinks (hot or cold), candy.  NO HOT ITEM MAY BE SOLD other than hot drink items: coffee, tea, hot chocolate. Proof of liability insurance naming New Castle County as an additional insured is required, Board of Health Inspection, and Business License.

ICF Non-Profit Vendor

A limited number of spots are available to non-profit vendors who will provide an activity for Ice Cream Festival attendees. The Department of Community Services reserves the right to use its discretion as it pertains to the participation and eligibility of vendors and the products sold at the Ice Cream Festival.

From the South:

I-95 South to Exit 9 (Marsh Road).

  • Make a left at the bottom of the off ramp onto MARSH ROAD, take a right onto CARR ROAD.
  • Make a right into Rockwood Office Park.  
  • IF CARR ROAD IS CLOSED continue on MARSH ROAD to WASHINGTON STREET EXTENSION.
  •  Make a right onto WASHINGTON STREET EXTENSION. 
  • Continue to CARR ROAD. 
  • Make a right onto CARR ROAD. 
  • Make a left into the Rockwood Office Park.

I-495 South to Exit 4A Governor Printz Boulevard.

  • At the end of the off ramp continue across GOVERNOR PRINTZ BOULEVARD onto EDGEMOOR ROAD. 
  • Continue to WASHINGTON STREET EXTENSION. 
  • Turn right onto WASHINGTON STREET EXTENSION. 
  • Continue to CARR ROAD. 
  • Turn left onto CARR ROAD.  
  • Continue on CARR ROAD.
  • Make a left into the Rockwood Office Park.

From the North:

Travel Alert:  The Northbound I-95 Exit 9 (Marsh Road) is closed.

I-95 North to Exit 8 (Concord Pike).

  • Follow sign for CONCORD PIKE/WILMINGTON to the right. 
  • Stay to the left for “TO MILLER ROAD/BROOM ST-EAST.” 
  • At the light take a right into the left turning lane (inside the curb). 
  • Tour left onto BROOM STREET. Continue straight (slight right) onto MILLER ROAD. 
  • Continue to LEA BOULEVARD. 
  • Turn right onto LEA BOULEVARD. 
  • Continue to WASHINGTON STREET EXTENSION. 
  • Turn left onto WASHINGTON STREET EXTENSION. 
  • Continue to CARR ROAD. Turn left onto CARR ROAD. 
  • Continue on CARR ROAD.
  •  Make a left into the Rockwood Office Park.

I-495 NORTH to Exit 4 Governor Printz Boulevard.
