The purpose of the Rockwood Preservation Society shall be to promote, preserve, and enhance the educational, historical, architectural, and natural resources of Rockwood Park and Mansion.
Our vision is to create a community sponsored organization that benefits Rockwood Park through fund-raising, recreational, educational events for the enjoyment and enlightenment of all New Castle County residents and beyond.
We invite you to become a member of the Rockwood Park Preservation Society. As a member you are helping to preserve and maintain the natural beauty and historical integrity of Rockwood Park and Museum.
Rockwood Park’s 72 acres encompass meadows and woodlands with historic and community gardens, wildlife habitats, framed by Turkey Run and Shellpot Creek. There is a pond, historic buildings and a house museum. Many trees and plantings date back the 19th century when estate creator, Joseph Shipley, designed a garden based on the principals of Victorian Gardenesque.
