The Art Studio is seeking teaching artists for:

• Accessible Art Classes for People of All Abilities 

  • We are looking for a teaching artist with experience working with artists of all ages and abilities. 

• Birthday Parties

  • We are interested in hosting creative youth birthday parties at The Art Studio! The ideal teaching artist is interested in helping us develop a birthday party program as well as running the birthday party workshops.

• Outdoor Art Programming

  • We love our New Castle County parks! We want to take advantage of their beauty during fall and spring seasons by offering art classes outdoors in various parks. 

• Middletown/Townsend Art Programming 

  • New Castle County is growing and flourishing. We are expanding our art programming and are looking for teaching artists in the Middletown/Townsend area! Proposals for all mediums are welcome as well as class ideas for all ages. 

Who we are:

The Art Studio is the arts education center of New Castle County's Department of Community Services. We offer classes year-round for artists of all ages, skill levels and abilities. The goal of The Art Studio is to provide New Castle County residents with a broad variety of interesting, exciting and artistic classes and programs. 

Are you interested in teaching at The Art Studio? 

We meet with teaching artist candidates on an ongoing basis. We are always looking for experienced artists who are interested in teaching people of all ages and abilities. We have the ability to offer weekday, weekend and evening classes. Contracted Art Instructors will receive as payment 70% of class revenues. Instructors are expected to supply materials or material lists for classes. Instructors may list an additional materials fee due at the time of class. 

 Teaching Artist Requested Skills:

• Design and implement a well-planned lesson
• Experience teaching art workshops
• Strong communication skills
