Redaction of Personal Identifiable Information

An amendment to Chapter 96, Title 9 of the Delaware Code now enables you to request redaction of most personal identifiable information from documents previously recorded in our offices at no cost. Personal identifiable information includes:

  • Alien registration numbers
  • Bank and credit card information
  • Employer or taxpayer identification numbers
  • Government passport numbers
  • Official state or government issued driver’s license or identification numbers
  • Partial social security numbers

Please read the Redaction Letter (PDF) from the Recorder of Deeds Office for more information. You can complete a Redaction Request Form (PDF) and return this form to our office if you need to have any personal identifiable information removed from a document.
