Moderate income households have not been well served since the economic downturn. Regulatory and administrative changes have been made to mortgage loan qualification requirements making it more difficult for moderate income family to purchase a home. As a result, the ability to buy or rent a home in a good, safe community continues to be denied to many moderate income households.
Traditional Neighborhood Housing is an inclusionary zoning program with a mandatory and voluntary component. Moderately Price Dwelling Units (MPDUs) are required for all residential rezonings or variance applications with density increases proposing twenty-five (25) or more dwelling units except for mixed-use developments.
