Logo Permits..InspectionsHomeowners should apply for a permit only if they are doing the work themselves. If a contractor is doing the work, it is their responsibility to obtain the permit.

In the Land Use Department, you will go through a permit screening process. Our staff will ensure that you have all the necessary paperwork and verify that there are no overdue taxes or fees for the property. Next a planner will verify that the use is consistent with zoning requirements for the site. The construction plans will be examined to verify that construction does not encroach into the legal setbacks and that the proposed structure meets all relevant size and height requirements. He/she can help answer any questions you may have about the construction process.
