The Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) homeownership program allows families that are assisted under the HCV program to use their voucher to buy a home and receive monthly assistance in meeting homeownership expenses. Essentially, for clients who qualify, the program converts the HAP payment from going toward a rental, to helping with the actual purchase of a home. You can learn more about the basics of the program from the HUD website.

The caseworker will confirm that they meet the basic qualifications and add them to a list to be invited to our next Homeownership Briefing. Briefings are held about twice per year and provide a complete overview of the program, as well as offering time for clients to have their questions answered by housing professionals.
NCCHA is proud to have helped over 50 clients become homeowners through this great program!
The next Homeownership Briefing will be around December 2021. If you are a qualifying client with interest in the program, please contact your current caseworker to inquire further.
