Mon Nov. 30 - Mon Dec. 21VIRTUAL FIBER ARTS We will explore the many ways of creating art with different fibers. Students will make small weaving, sewing and embroidery projects. Open to all levels. Students will receive a list of materials they are asked to purchase on their own prior to the start of class. This course has an additional $30 materials fee that is collected at registration. Sat Dec. 5 - Sat Dec. 19VIRTUAL ACRYLIC PAINTING Four 2-hour virtual classes. Learn fundamental painting techniques and create a painting from still life, landscapes or colorful abstraction. Explore adding mediums for transparency, texture, color mixing and mark making. Students will receive a list of materials they are asked to purchase on their own prior to the start of class. Zoom meeting invitation and material list will be sent out after registration. Ages: 16+
Sun Dec. 6Make a Fresh Greens Winter Porch Pot at Rockwood Select a 12" diameter porch pot of your choice - a galvanized bucket, a clay or ceramic flowerpot, or another container of your choice. Also, bring a bag of potting soil to fill the container in addition to a pair of garden shears, wire cutters, and a garden spade to fill container with soil. there will be a materials fee of $20.00, payable to the instructor to cover the cost of fresh materials that will be used to fill the container. A $5.00 in county registration feel, $10.00 out of country registration fee. Participants will work outside and will be required to wear a mask and to social distance. Meet your instructor in the Courtyard of the Visitor's Entrance to the Museum. Tue Dec. 8Tai Chi with Winston, Virtual Senior Program with Absalom Jones Senior Center Winston Gacutan guides you through this ancient form of exercise combining meditation with gentle flexible movements. Material needed: A stable chair without rollers.
