Welcome to the Hockessin Recreation Center 

We offer a variety of classes, from fitness & dance, to guitar classes - there is sure to be something to suit everyone!

    PoundFit Instructor will provide weighted drumsticks and choreographed workout routines! Create your own beat in this fun, energizing class. This class will be outside the Hockessin Recreation Center on the front grass area. Weather permitting. Adults
  2. Wed Sep. 23

    Strike a Balance Group fitness class combining strength training using weights, along with core and balance exercises and some cardiovascular work. All ability levels are welcome, as well can adjust accordingly to fit your needs. Please bring a mat, weights, water, and a towel.

    Progressive Line Dancing for Beginners Along with easy and classic line dances, five basic rhythms and all basic component steps are taught at the beginner class. This helps build a foundation for all types of dancing. As the dancers progress to the intermediate class, they will dance to all types of music from country and oldies to modern rock ans pop. The first part of the class will be beginner and the 2nd part will be improv/easy intermediate. The first week back we will DANCE. Then we will go back to some teaching. We will dance in the newly paved, very smooth parking lot, weather permitting. Adults.

    Early Bird Gets the Burn Full-body strength training is combined with periods of cardiovascular exercise. All ability levels are encouraged to attend as exercises can be adapted, and intensity scaled, in order to meet the individual's needs. Classes are held outdoors on clean pavement in the parking lot. Please bring your own personal equipment (dumbbells, exercise mat, etc.) small towel, and water. Adults.
