Meeting & Study Rooms

New Castle County Libraries welcome the use of their meeting rooms for public activities of a civic nature. Library meeting rooms are open to the public and available for public programs sponsored by non-profit civic, educational, and cultural entities.

Not all of our libraries have meeting rooms. To apply for the use of rooms at locations where they are available, please view our meeting room policy (PDF), then fill out the application form (PDF) and fax it or deliver it to the appropriate library's Information Desk.

New Castle County Libraries also have study rooms available for small groups of students to use.  Study room information is listed below.  Contact the individual library to make a reservation.

Appoquinimink Library

  • This library has four meeting rooms available for public use.
  • The library has five study rooms available for public use.



Bear Library

  • This library has a number of meeting rooms available for public use:

    Meeting Room 1A- capacity 35.
    Meeting Room 1B – capacity 35.

    Meeting Room 1A and 1B can be combined into one large room, with a capacity of 70.

    Meeting Room 2: Conference room set up only – capacity 12.
    Meeting Room 3 – capacity 25.

    All meeting rooms except Meeting Room 2 have chairs and tables that can be arranged to suit need, white boards, and either projection AV equipment or monitors to support presentations. Meeting Room 2 has a large fixed conference table that cannot be modified.

    This library has four study rooms available for public use:

    Study Rooms 1 &2 – capacity 6.
    Study Rooms 3 & 4 – capacity 4.

    All study rooms have white boards; Study Room 2 has a monitor to support presentations.

Brandywine Hundred Library

  • This library has four meeting rooms available for public use:

    Conference room - capacity 20.
    Program room - capacity 65.
    Multipurpose room 1- capacity 50.
    Multipurpose room 2 -- capacity 50.

    Multipurpose Room 1 & 2 can be combined for a capacity of 100.

    The library has 7 study rooms available for public use:
    5 small study rooms - capacity 4.
    2 medium study rooms – capacity 8.

Claymont Library

  • This library has three meeting rooms:
  • Activity Room - capacity 10.
    Meeting Room A - capacity 19.
    Meeting Room B - capacity 33.

    Meeting Rooms A &B can be combined for a capacity of 52.

    This library has two study rooms:
    Study Rooms A & B - capacity 3.

Corbit-Calloway Memorial Library

This library does not have meeting or study rooms available for public use.



Delaware City Library

  • This library has three meeting rooms available for public use. Please contact the Information Desk for more information at 302-834-4148.



Elsmere Library

This library does not have meeting or study rooms available for public use.



Hockessin Library

  • This library has two meeting rooms:
    Small Meeting Room capacity 25.
    Large Meeting Room capacity 60.

    The Small and Large Meeting Rooms can be combined for a capacity of 90.

    This library also has 3 study rooms, capacity 3.

Kirkwood Library

  • This library has one meeting room, capacity 50.

    This library has 2 study rooms  with a capacity of 4.

New Castle Public Library

  • This library has three meeting rooms:
    Conference Room capacity 12.
    Community Room capacity 50.
    Classroom capacity 20.

    This library has two study rooms available with capacities of 6 & 8.

Newark Free Library

  • This library has three meeting rooms:
    Meeting Room 1 capacity 40.
    Meeting Room 2 capacity 20.

    Meeting Rooms 1 & 2 can be combined for a capacity of 60.

    Bookends Room capacity 20.

    The library also offers 4 study rooms:
    Study Room 1 capacity 3.
    Study Room 2 capacity 5.
    Bookends Room capacity 12.
    Delaware Room capacity 4.

Route 9 Library & Innovation Center

  • This library has 6 meeting rooms:

    Multipurpose Room A capacity70.
    Multipurpose Room B capacity 80.
    Scriptorium capacity 27.
    Conference Room capacity 12.
    Bookatarium capacity 35.
    STEM Room capacity 30.

    The above listed rooms all have tables and chairs and the capability to support computer presentations. Laptops must be provided by the presenter.

    This library has 10 group study rooms available for public use:

    5 rooms seat 6.
    4 rooms seat 4.
    1 room seats 2

Wilmington Library

The Wilmington Library does offer meeting rooms for use by the public. Please visit the Wilmington Library's web site for more information, as their policies differ from our other libraries.



Woodlawn Library

  • This library has 3 meeting rooms:

    Meeting Room capacity 83.
    Conference Room capacity 12.
    Class Room capacity 20.

    This library has 2 dedicated study rooms with a capacity of 2 which patrons can reserve one month in advance and twice a week.

    In addition the Conference Room and Class Room listed above can be reserved under the Study Room Policy.
