Gordon to comment on WDEL allegations

New Castle County Executive Thomas P. Gordon plans to issue a statement addressing the allegations of impropriety leveled against him today by WDEL, Timothy Mullaney Sr., the county’s chief administrative officer said in a statement Tuesday.
These allegations, unfortunately, cite a personnel matter of eight months ago about an allegation from nearly a year before that, Mullaney said.
“Before any statement,” he said, “we are researching what can be said publicly without violating the sanctity of personnel confidentiality guaranteed by Delaware state law.”
Although some may find this delay objectionable, we owe it to the citizens of our county to be responsible and outline the situation factually, fairly and legally, Mullaney added.
“We also look forward to WDEL releasing the entire undated recording to the county so its full context may be determined,” he said.
