County Executive Thomas P. Gordon recently administered the Oath of Office for the Historic Review Board to local architect Karen E. Anderson, who has been principal of KRN Architecture LLC in Wilmington since 2012.
Gordon said he was excited at the opportunity to appoint someone the caliber of Anderson to the New Castle County Historic Review Board. This panel is charged with maintaining historic properties, reviewing permits relative to historic properties, recommending historic district boundaries and making recommendations to the County Executive, New Castle County Council and the Department of Land Use on grants, gifts and budgeting related to the preservation of historic sites.
“When you see the projection Ms. Anderson’s career as an architect has taken, you see what a find she really is,” Gordon said. “We are ecstatic that she is willing to give time to the Historic Review Board, an important panel in the county. I thank Karen for her willingness to lend her expertise to the people of New Castle County.”
Prior to KRN, Anderson was project architect/manager at KlingStubbins in Philadelphia from 2006 to 2012 and project architect/manager at TetraTech in Wilmington from 2004 to 2006.
Earlier in her career, she was project designer/job captain for Kitchen & Associates in Collingswood, N.J.; Fisher Friedman Associates in San Francisco, Calif. and Architectural Consulting in Los Angeles.
Anderson’s term on the Historic Review Board expires Oct. 27, 2019.
