Kick off the holiday season this Friday with a perfect shopping opportunity for one-of-a-kind presents and the gift of wellness for yourself.
The third annual Wellness Fair & Holiday Craft Sale -- with free admission -- runs 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 4, at the Hockessin Community Recreation Center in the Hockessin Police Athletic League (PAL) Center building at 7259 Lancaster Pike.
In addition to a chance to support local artisans and crafters, the event offers free blood pressure and diabetes screening, as well as flu shots for those covered by insurance or Medicare.
Scheduled entertainment includes the MOT Dancers from 10:45 to 11 a.m., visiting and photos with Miss Delaware Amanda Debus from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and Bob Lougheed as Elvis from 11 a.m. to noon.
Visitors also can enjoy line-dancing and other activities.
More than 60 vendors will offer unique handcrafts from distinctive jewelry to handmade wreaths and other holiday décor. Vendors also will sell a variety of refreshments.
Information tables – known at this event for excellent freebies -- include chiropractic care, legal aid help, caregiver services, adult living options and volunteer opportunities.
