New Castle County Police have launched a homicide investigation after a New Jersey man was found dead in Claymont.
A 911 call about 5:50 p.m. Tuesday reported an unconscious man on a sidewalk in Claymont, according to police, who say responding officers found the man was dead.
The man -- found in the 1000 block of Linda Road in Darley Woods -- later was identified as Jakeith Latham, 34, from the unit block of Newkirk Street in Clayton, New Jersey, Cpl. Tracey Duffy said.
The homicide investigation is in the early stages and additional information will be released when it becomes available, Duffy said.
