NEW CASTLE, Del. -- County Executive Tom Gordon and Director of Public Safety Joseph Bryant Jr. are pleased to announce that the New Castle County Department of Public Safety and the Office of Community Governing will host the second series of Regional Community Meetings this month.
The first round of community meetings took part in five areas of the County in autumn.
The next round of meetings will focus on two very important topics: the newly developed “Police Mobile Application” and the Award Winning “Heroin Alert Program”. New Castle County Police Col. Elmer Setting unveiled the new police app on Tuesday while the Heroin Alert Program has been in place since the mid-1990s.
“It is our firm belief that the Heroin Alert Program has saved countless lives by warning people in detail about this dangerous drug,” County Executive Gordon said. “Today, we added another valuable service to the community that could also potentially save lives – the police app that affords the community another way to contact police. This is the future of policing.”
The meetings are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. throughout various parts of the County, as listed below. Representatives from Civic Groups, Maintenance Corporations, Community Groups, Educational Institutions, Governmental Agencies, and many other agencies are encouraged to attend a Regional Meeting to learn about valuable New Castle County Governmental functions and services.
