County Executive to visit Newark on June 21 for next “County in Your Community” work day

Residents can schedule individual meetings with the County Executive by contacting [email protected]

New Castle, DE – County Executive Matthew Meyer continues his “County in Your Community” work days with a visit to Newark on June 21. During his visit, Meyer will meet one-on-one with residents who can reserve meeting times by sending an e-mail to [email protected] and will convene an informal “community conversation” at the New Castle County Library System’s Newark Free Library. Residents are encouraged to meet with the County Executive individually or in small groups to discuss any issue of interest or concern. While in Newark the County Executive will also visit with employers and entrepreneurs, local government officials and civic leaders to discuss ways to leverage New Castle County’s strengths to build upon its vibrant economy and high quality of life.

“Starting with my first day in office it has been important that I take time to meet face-to-face with everyday residents of New Castle County to hear their concerns and ideas for county government,” County Executive Meyer said. “I invite all members of our community to take a few minutes and meet with me in Newark on June 21st. I value your input as we work to make county government more honest, transparent and efficient.”

Details for the County Executive’s County in Your Community work days in Newark are as follows:

Wednesday, June 21

Newark Free Library, 750 Library Ave, Newark, DE 19711
4:30 – 6:00 pm: Community Office Hours. Individuals and small groups can reserve meeting times by sending an e-mail to [email protected].
6:00 – 6:30 pm: Community Conversation.  Informal discussion with attendees (no RSVPs necessary) about county government programs and services; Question and Answer session with the County Executive.
6:30 – 7:00 pm: Drop-in Office Hours. No appointments are necessary.

Meyer’s visit to Newark follows his recent community work days in New Castle, Wilmington, Middletown and Hockessin where he met with dozens of residents, employers, community organizations and others. Additional “County in Your Community” work days will be scheduled throughout the County in the coming months.
