Residents can schedule individual meetings with the County Executive by contacting [email protected]

New Castle, DE – County Executive Matthew Meyer will hold “County in Your Community” work days in Claymont on July 13 and Bear on August 2, continuing his practice of holding regular community office hours that began starting on inauguration day this past January. Any resident can lock in one-on-one meetings with the County Executive on each date by sending an e-mail to [email protected] and residents are encouraged to meet with the County Executive individually or in small groups to discuss any issue of interest or concern. Additionally, at 6 pm on both days Meyer will convene informal “community conversations” which provide an opportunity for members of the public to gather in a group setting to learn more about the County Executive’s priorities and initiatives and to provide their feedback on county programs and services. No registration is required to attend “community conversations” sessions.

During each of the “County in Your Community” work days Meyer will also meet with employers and entrepreneurs, local government officials and civic leaders to strengthen channels of communication and help ensure that county and community leaders are working together to meet local needs.

“Democracy is about you standing up to voice your opinion. In my first six months we have met with thousands of residents, small businesspersons and civic and municipal leaders,” County Executive Meyer said. “We are listening. Your feedback and ideas inform my administration to make county government more honest, transparent and efficient. Join me to continue that conversation in Claymont on July 13 and in Bear on August 2.”

Details for the County Executive’s County in Your Community work days in Claymont and Bear are as follows:

Thursday, July 13: Claymont Library, 400 Lenape Way, Claymont, DE 19703
Wednesday, August 2: Bear Library, 101 Governors Place, Bear, DE 19701

4:30 – 6:00 pm: Community Office Hours. Individuals and small groups can reserve meeting times by sending an e-mail to [email protected].

County Executive Meyer has Meyer’s visits to Claymont and Bear follow his recent community work days in Newark, New Castle, Wilmington, Middletown and Hockessin where he met with dozens of residents, employers, community organizations and others. Additional “County in Your Community” work days will be scheduled throughout the County in the coming months.
