Wilmington, DE – The biggest family camping event in New Castle County is back for 2017 with spooktacular Halloween fun for the whole family! On Saturday, October 21, New Castle County’s Carousel Park & Equestrian Center, 3700 Limestone Road, plays host to Sleep Under the Stars, featuring a full day of hayrides, food vendors, a DJ Monster Bash, video game truck, family movie and bonfires and a nighttime camping experience that drew 5,400 attendees in 2016. Enter the costume and tent decorating contests. Design your Halloween pumpkin, make a scarecrow, jump on the moon bounce and much more.
Camper check-in begins at 10 am and activities kick off at noon. Cost is free.
“Winter is just around the corner, but standing in its way is the annual Sleep Under the Stars at Carousel Park and you don’t want to miss it!”, County Executive Matt Meyer said. “Come with your tent, sleeping bag and teddy bear. As Shel Silverstein wrote, ‘Turn on the dark. I’m afraid of the light.’”
