Literacy and STEM education event for Colonial students and families from 6 – 8:30 p.m.
New Castle, DE – Tonight from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. New Castle County and Colonial School District team up to celebrate learning with an evening of activities and fun for kids and families at the New Castle County Route 9 Library and Innovation Center, located at 3022 New Castle Avenue in New Castle. Tonight’s free event is open to all Colonial School District students and families and feature hands-on activities, entertainment, and educational resources for families. Kindergarten registration and library card sign-ups will be offered.
The Colonial Literacy and STEM Celebration has been promoted to Colonial School District students of all ages and their families. Media are welcome to cover the event.

Programming in the Bookatarium, STEM, MAKERS and Legos rooms and Teen Activity Area
McCullough Middle School STEM Showcase
Poetry slam sessions, storytelling and a magician
Green Screen Fun
Library Card Sign Ups. First 100 who sign up for a library card on-site gets a free book!
Educational resources for parents from Colonial School District

It has hosted 600 on-site programs
70,000 items have been checked out
3,200 library cards have been issued on-site
45,000+ individuals have visited the library
