County Executive Statement on Passage of Fiscal Year 2019 Revenue Ordinance

Wilmington, DE – County Executive Matt Meyer issued the following statement following tonight’s County Council vote to pass the annual revenue ordinance of New Castle County for Fiscal Year 2019:

“I thank County Council for their collaboration in providing the revenue to fund valuable life-saving and quality of life services. We set out six months ago to balance a structural deficit and the passing of this compromise budget puts county finances on a sustainable path to deliver high quality services for years to come. We now look to state legislators to restore state funding cuts to paramedics, which will enable us to fully staff our life-saving paramedic service for the first time in years.”
