NEW CASTLE, Del., Feb. 26, 2014 -- New Castle County Paramedics will host the Second Annual Sudden Cardiac Arrest Survivor’s Reunion Friday in the Department of Public Safety Sweeney Building.
Responders from the community, emergency communications, law enforcement, fire service, and basic life support emergency medical services agencies, and
Sudden cardiac arrest survivors that successfully received care in New Castle County, Delaware during 2013 are scheduled to attend.
The Annual Sudden Cardiac Arrest Survivor’s Reunion recognizes the responders that contributed to the successful outcome of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest cases, and facilitate the reunion of the patient with the responders. The event will recognize 179 individuals from 4 EMS agencies, 12 fire companies, 5 police departments, 1 communications
center and 26 bystander civilians that assisted during calendar year 2013.
This event coincides with National Heart Month, which highlights heart disease as the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States.
The ceremony is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2014 at the Public Safety Building, located at 3601 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, Delaware 19720. Proceed to the Community Conference Room located directly off the main lobby to the right.
