Flags lowered at county facilities October 29 – October 31

County Executive Matt Meyer ordered county flags to be lowered to half-staff from October 29 through October 31 to honor the victims of Saturday’s attack on worshippers at a Pittsburgh Synagogue.

“This unspeakable hate-filled act of violence was an assault on the fundamental freedoms and values that make up the very basis of our democratic society,” Meyer said. “We mourn with the families and friends of those whose lives were lost. We deeply appreciate the selfless bravery of the men and women in uniform who rushed in to protect the innocent and prevented additional loss of life. And for those who were injured in the horrific events, we continue to pray for health and strength.”
