TOMORROW: County Executive Meyer presents $10,000 New Castle County Cares grant to The Warehouse

WILMINGTON, DE – New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer will join REACH Riverside CEO Logan Herring, The Warehouse’s Director of Programming Patrick Ryan, and members of the Howard High School student body and teens representing the Warehouse for the presentation of a $10,000 NCC Cares grant to support The Warehouse’s programs.

In January 2020, Wilmington will launch a teen-led co-working space in the former Prestige Academy building on the southern end of the Riverside neighborhood. The building will serve as a home for more than 50 youth-serving partner organizations with the goal of becoming a programming site where teens can fully explore, collaborate, discover their passions, and develop skills needed for employment in today's economy.

About New Castle County Cares (NCC Cares)

NCC Cares is a grant program for non-profit groups and organizations that provide resources or services to the public in specific areas where county leadership has identified gaps in resources. County Executive Meyer welcomes the opportunity to partner with private groups and organizations to enhance quality of life in communities throughout New Castle County. About The Warehouse

The mission of The Warehouse is to create a collaborative culture to revolutionize teen engagement in Wilmington with the vision of developing confident, courageous and contributing young adults ready to take the next step in their lives. The Warehouse will be a physical safe space and network of support for Wilmington teens while nurturing a “culture of opportunity” that stands in opposition to the culture of poverty and violence they currently encounter in their lives. A member of the REACH Riverside family, The Warehouse will also be guided by five pillars of success: Recreation, Education, Arts, Career, & Health. All Warehouse enrichment activities address at least one of these pillars of success, are age appropriate, and are responsive to teen needs and desires.
