County Executive Meyer unveils “Green Agenda” environmental legislation to protect open spaces, wat

WILMINGTON, DE – New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer along with New Castle County’s leading environmental advocates will roll out the administration’s new “Green Agenda” draft ordinances that will protect county forests, water supply, scenic views and open spaces.


“Green Agenda” items include:

  • Limiting landfill height
  • Creating more opportunities for clean and efficient energy with the Commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy program
  • Protecting water quality through the elimination of septic systems in major subdivisions
  • Preserving and enhancing scenic views along byways
  • Promoting quality community open space
  • Conserving forests and habitats
  • Updating the County Drainage Code for consistency and best practices
