New Castle County Police along with Federal, State and Local agencies
completed a joint investigation along the Lancaster Pike corridor. The Division
of Police initiated and completed their part of the investigation with the largest
single seizure of heroin in the department’s history.
(Wilmington, DE-19805) A team of law enforcement officials from the New
Castle County Police Department along with the Federal Bureau of Investigation
(Wilmington Office), the Drug Enforcement Agency, the U.S. Marshals, the city
of Wilmington Police Department, the Delaware State Police, the Attorney
General’s Office, Probation and Parole and the Delaware Army National Guard
assisted in the joint operation.
Approximately forty (40) officers from the multiple agencies conducted a five
day operation (days and evenings) to address the quality of life issues in the area.
Officers arrested 39 people and seized approximately 412 bags of heroin (10.29
grams), 24.79 grams of cocaine, 176.67 grams of marijuana and 33.5 doses of
miscellaneous pills. They located one (1) weapon and issued numerous
warnings and traffic citations.
