Meyer, Bond, Street announce $7,500 reward for apprehension of Rosegate shooter

New Castle, DE – New Castle, DE – County officials have announced a reward of up to $7,500 for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for shooting two people on November 4, including a 9-month-old toddler in the neighborhood of Rosegate. For details of the investigation, click HERE.

“I am deeply disturbed and angered by the recent shooting of a small boy and his father in the Rosegate community,” said County Executive Meyer. “Violence of any kind, but especially violence against a young child, will not stand in New Castle County. Our dedicated New Castle County Police detectives are working around the clock to bring this shooter to justice, and our hope is this reward will encourage someone to come forward with critical information.”

“We are saddened that these criminals continue to ravage our communities with violent acts,” said Col. Vaughn Bond. “Now they have reached a new low shooting a toddler. The police and community must unite to identify these criminals and arrest them. If we don’t then the shootings will continue with more innocent people being injured or killed.”

“The violence in our communities must stop,” said Councilman Jea Street. “To shoot a child, not even a single year old, is unthinkable. We hope this reward will get someone to come forward and lead to an arrest. I believe that we must use all of our resources to get extremely dangerous people off the street and have them prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
