We have now concluded our Deep Dive Sessions, a series of online public workshops designed to further examine topics comprising the NCC@2050 Comprehensive Plan. During these workshops, subject matter experts and attendees, provided detailed input on how potential goals, objectives, and strategies of the Plan can address these topics. Meeting topics explored included Open Space, Conservation, Recreation & the Environment; Housing & Economic Development; Infrastructure, Transportation, Water & Sewer Service; Community Design and Historic Preservation; Environmental Justice & Social Justice. With all of the information we’ve gathered, we are happy to share a draft of the goals and objectives which can be viewed here. Please note there is a longer version of this document, which includes preliminary strategies in addition to the goals and objectives. A link to this longer document can be found on page 3.
In conjunction with the Deep Dive Sessions, we created two surveys to better understand the issues that people feel are important for the NCC@2050 Comprehensive Plan to address as well as preferred growth patterns for future development. The surveys also gave people who may not have been able to attend one of the Deep Dive Sessions a way to provide input. The first Policy Framework short survey was predominantly multiple-choice questions and could be completed in less than five minutes. 260 people completed this survey. The second option was a lengthier, interactive exercise, known as Growing Better Places, which included multiple choice and open-ended questions and an interactive map. 277 people completed this survey. You can view a report on the surveys here.
