NEW CASTLE –New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer, along with general manager of New Castle County Public Works, Tracey Surles, have announced a schedule of public engagement meetings on the topic of New Castle County parks. The town halls will be held in person with limited attendance and a virtual option to attend. New Castle County maintains 249 parks and nearly 6,000 acres of land.
“Our hundreds of New Castle County parks, from small neighborhood parks to full-service recreational complexes are home to thousands of family celebrations, sports tournaments, and are a key component of what makes New Castle County a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family,” said County Executive Meyer. “Now we’re calling on the residents, the ones who use our parks, to tell us what they want, improvements we can make, and we’re excited to hear from them first-hand.”
Attendees will hear from New Castle County parks department representatives who discuss future plans for parks specific to the geographical region. County staff will collect feedback and present feedback to County Executive Meyer and General Manager Surles by January 31, 2022.
