County Executive Tom Gordon invites residents to attend “Sleep Under the Stars” this Saturday, May 3 beginning at 10:30 a.m. and ending on Sunday, May 4 at 9:00 a.m. This event is a free opportunity to enjoy Rockwood Mansion and Park and includes: camping, bonfires, hay rides, food, games, crafts as well as a special kids’ craft for Mother’s Day.
“Come on out to Rockwood Park this weekend and join in the first Sleep Under the Stars of this season,” County Executive Gordon said. “This park belongs to you and we want you to enjoy everything it has to offer.”
Check-in for campers is open from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and overnight camping is not required. All campers under the age of 19 must be accompanied by an adult age 25 or older. Additionally, food vendors will be selling lunch and dinner items on Saturday or campers may bring their own food. However, no alcoholic beverages, pets, charcoal grills, or open fires are permitted.
