NEW CASTLE – Today, New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer announced that submissions are now being accepted through the Art Studio for New Castle County’s 4th Annual NCC heARTed Art Contest and Pop-Up Art Show. This year’s theme is ‘Celebrating Community through Art.’
This is a community wide art project bringing together New Castle County residents and visitors including New Castle County employees, students, teachers, and families. To participate, pick something you love about your community; your favorite park, your pet or a scene from your local farmer’s markets. Once you have your artwork, snap a picture of it and submit it. There will be a winner selected in four age groups (19+, 15-18, 10-14 and 9 and younger) who will win a prize. Plus, all entries will be printed and displayed at a Pop-Up Art Show at Glasgow Park Bank Barn on Thursday June 23 from 4-7pm. The submission deadline is Friday May 20. For all the details visit www.newcastlede.gov/ncchearted.
“Art is a critical component of who we are as New Castle County,” said County Executive Meyer. “I look forward to the submissions every year and am constantly inspired by the creativity and imagination of our young, and young at heart artists in County residence.”
