All new dwellings with permits issued after July 1st must be built with adequate space in the electric panel and conduit in the walls to ensure that installing an electric vehicle charger will be as easy and cost effective as possible. Substitute No. 1 to Ordinance No. 21-116, which was signed into law in November 2021, also requires that parking at new multi-unit residential buildings be 10% EV-capable, with a minimum of two EV-capable spots, one of which must be ADA-compliant.
