NEWARK – New Castle County Executive Matt Meyer and Diana Brown, Manager of Libraries, today announced that the Newark Free Library will be entering a design phase for the new and improved Newark Free Library.
This month, New Castle County will be hosting two town hall meetings where individuals can share their thoughts directly with the architectural firm, Quinn Evans. These public engagement meetings will be hosted by The Friends of the Newark Free Library at the Aetna Hose Hook & Ladder and the Newark Senior Center.
“New Castle County libraries are a vital part of our community,” said County Executive Matthew Meyer. “The Newark Free Library Capital Project will allow us to bring new resources to the Newark community. Today, libraries are so much more than just books. These town hall meetings will help us determine what residents are looking for in our new Newark Free Library.”
Joining these public engagement meetings will help the county create vibrant, inclusive spaces that enrich the lives of all who visit the library. These meetings will take place on the dates below:
- Thursday, September 14th from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Newark Senior Center (200 Whitechapel Dr, Newark, DE 19713)
- Saturday, September 16th from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Aetna Hose Hook and Ladder (400 Ogletown Rd Newark, DE 19711).
The public can also share their thoughts by taking a quick community survey (https://bit.ly/NewarkFreeLibrarySurvey) between September 5 and September 30, 2023.
