[ARCHIVED] New Castle County Police Issue “Gold Alert” For Missing Person

NEWARK, Del. -- New Castle County Police are currently searching for Angelita Matos, a 20-year-old female from the unit block of Rose Hall in Newark.

New Castle County Police responded to the unit block of Rose Hall for the report of a missing person. Angelita was last heard from via text message at approximately 3:15 p.m. today.

Attempts to locate Angelita have been unsuccessful and there is a concern for her safety and welfare. She is possibly operating a dark blue 2011 Honda Civic with tinted windows bearing Delaware registration 109780.

Angelita is described as a black female, 5’2’’ tall, weighing approximately 130 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She has distinctive tattoos on the nape of her neck, right wrist, foot and upper torso.

Anyone with information pertaining to the whereabouts of Angelita Matos is asked to call the New Castle County Police Department at 395-8110. Citizens can submit tips anonymously by going to and following the link for Tips and Alerts. You will be asked for a subject line, the location the tip applies to, and your tip information.

You may also attach a photograph. Citizens may also provide text tips by texting the key word NCCPD followed by your tip to 847411 (TIP411). Tipsters may also call Crime Stoppers at (800) TIP-3333.
