New Castle County Police Chief E. M. Setting proudly announced the promotion of two officers earlier this week.
A formal promotional ceremony will be announced in the near future. County Executive Tom Gordon plans to attend.
Colonel E. M. Setting announced the promotion of Captain Vaughn Bond and Lieutenant Patrick Crowell on Wednesday.
Captain Vaughn Bond, a 22-year veteran of the police department has been promoted to the rank of Major. During his career Major Bond has been assigned to Patrol and the Criminal Investigations Unit. He has served as Commander to the Criminal Investigations Unit, Special Operations Section and most recently as the Commander of the Patrol Section.
Lieutenant Patrick Crowell, a 26-year veteran of the police department has been promoted to the rank of Captain. During his career, Captain Crowell has been assigned to Patrol, the Mounted Patrol Unit, Public Information Office, Criminal Investigations Unit, and the Community Services Unit. He has served as the Executive Officer for two chiefs, Administrative Support Commander and the Community Services Unit Commander.
The promotion takes effect immediately.
