The Dunleith Civic Association, in conjunction with New Castle County, held a grand opening for the revamped Surratte Pool in the County's Surratte Park Monday.
Dunleith Civic Association President Sandra Smithers presented a plaque with the names of County Executive Tom Gordon and Councilman Jea Street for their help in obtaining funding and grants to ensure the renovation took place.
County Executive Gordon said the revitalization of the previously distressed Surratte Park was important to youths and the County’s vitality overall.
“If Dunleith goes we’re all in trouble,” the Executive said.
Ms. Smithers also thanked State Rep. JJ Johnson, Council President Christopher Bullock, and others for their help to ensure this important, community project took place.
