New Castle County Executive Tom Gordon’s “Sleep Under the Stars – A Spooky Fall Festival” drew an impressive 5,000 people to Carousel Park & Equestrian Center on a perfect, sunny Saturday in autumn.
County Executive Gordon was both pleased and impressed with the turnout.
“It was a perfect day, and the autumn-themed events helped to attract so many people,” he said. “Families went on hayrides and built scarecrows, children painted pumpkins, and everyone danced. As soon as dusk arrived, everyone enjoyed the bonfires as well. People appreciate a free event that allows them to enjoy the activities they associate with fall.”
People also enjoyed the haunted barn, and children went trick-or-treating during Sleep Under the Stars at Carousel Park. Several people came just for the day while many others brought their tents to stay for the night. New Castle County Police were on patrol to keep everyone safe.
