[ARCHIVED] Freezing Rain, Sleet Cause Winter Weather Advisory for New Castle County

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly, N.J. has issued a winter weather advisory for New Castle County until 10 a.m. due to a wintry mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow.

Most schools have decided to open two hours late in an abundance of caution. County government is operating at normal business hours, but employees should exercise extreme caution when walking to their cars and driving, particularly on secondary and tertiary roads.

Delaware Department of Transportation crews have been brining the primary roads.

The New Castle County Department of Public Safety's Office of Emergency Management will continue to monitor this weather event for any changes or impacts. Thank you.
