County Executive Tom Gordon was pleased to learn that two New Castle County paramedics, Cpl. David Lawrence and Cpl. Kevin Cowperthwait, were among the recipients of the Trauma Survivors Foundation Public Safety Awards handed out Tuesday.
The Trauma Survivors Foundation’s Public Safety Awards were created to recognize the outstanding service provided by the men and women of Delaware’s public safety community.
“The CAO and I are very proud of our paramedics, who have been working extra hard saving lives in the City of Wilmington as well as in the County. They are our heroes," said County Executive Tom Gordon.
There were five people who received the 2014 Public Safety Award Recipients:
Wilmington Fire Fighter Lawrence DeNisio
NCC Paramedic CPL David Lawrence
NCC Paramedic CPL Kevin Cowperthwait

On behalf of County Executive Gordon, Chief of Staff Jim McDonald attended the event held at the Logan House in Wilmington.
