GLASGOW, Del. – New Castle County Executive Thomas P. Gordon invites local individuals, families, dance teams and studios, and all foodies to attend the 2nd annual Dancing in the Park event and 1st Annual Food Truck Festival on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Glasgow Park.
Dancing in the Park is presented in conjunction with National Dance Day 2015, an annual celebration of dance launched by the Dizzy Feet Foundation in 2010. New Castle County has embraced the day as part of the Live Healthy New Castle County initiative.
“Dancing in the Park is a great way for people to get outside, have a great time and be active.” County Executive Thomas P. Gordon said. “And after the dance, relax and enjoy a free family friendly musical concert in one of your own, county parks.”
All participants will learn the National Dance Day routine and perform it as a group to “Shut up and Dance” by Walk the Moon. There will also be dance-along demonstrations for Line Dancing, Contemporary Salsa, Disco and Bollywood Dance. After the Dancing In the Park event, individuals and families are invited to enjoy a free family friendly musical concert by ‘The Strange Heat’ from 7:30-8:30 p.m.
New this year, is the 1st Annual Food Truck Festival with at least 15 food trucks and restaurants to choose from for dinner and dessert. Bring your appetite!
Bring your chairs, water bottles and blankets to relax and enjoy the show! The Dancing in the Park event and musical concert are free. All people of all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate.
Glasgow Park is located at 2275 Pulaski Highway, Newark DE 19702. The park is highly visible off the intersection of Del. Rt. 40 and Del. Rt. 896.
