Gold Alert Cancelled; Missing Girl Returned Safely to Family

Kathleen Burris was located in nearby Elkton, MD with an acquaintance. She is OK and has been returned to her family. The Gold Alert issued for Burris has been cancelled.

On August 25, 2015, at approximately 5:15 p.m., New Castle County Police Patrol Units responded to the 400 block of Commodore Drive in the community of Commodore Estates, Middletown, for the report of a missing person. The reporting person, a family member of 16-year-old Kathleen Burris, advised that Kathleen had not been seen since early that afternoon.

Gold Alerts are issued whenever a child goes missing. New Castle County Police are always thankful when they can cancel such alerts relatively quickly.
