It was with great regret and sadness that I learned of the death of local, civic activist James H. Gilliam, Jr., a legend we'll never forget.
Mr. Gilliam, for whom the County's James H. Gilliam Building was named, was a tireless advocate for the community and equality for all, a war veteran and hero. He was a mentor and several people can contribute their professionalism and style back to this great man.
We shall miss him, and our prayers go out to his family.
Sincerely,
Thomas P. Gordon
County Executive
