    Four 2-hour virtual classes. We will explore the many ways of creating art and functional pieces with fabric and other fibers. Students will learn home and eco-friendly dyeing techniques and make small weaving, sewing and embroidery projects. Open to all levels. Students will receive a list of materials they are asked to purchase on their own prior to the start of class. Ages: 16+

  2. VIRTUAL BEGINNER'S WATERCOLOR

    Four 2-hour virtual classes. Learn watercolor techniques and how to apply them to a painting. Techniques include washes, brush work, glazing and color mixing. Practice each skill and combine them in a final project. Students will receive a list of materials they are asked to purchase on their own prior to the start of class. Zoom meeting invitation and material list will be sent out after registration. Ages: 16+

    Four 2-hour virtual classes. Learn fundamental painting techniques and create a painting from still life, landscapes or colorful abstraction. Explore adding mediums for transparency, texture, color mixing and mark making. Students will receive a list of materials they are asked to purchase on their own prior to the start of class. Zoom meeting invitation and material list will be sent out after registration. Ages: 16+

  1. NCC@2050 Stakeholder Advisory Committee Meeting

    October 26, 2020, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Virtual Meeting

    As the first phase of the comprehensive planning process is getting underway we are forming the NCC@2050 Stakeholder Advisory Committee. This diverse group will be composed of community members representing a wide range of perspectives important to the development of a successful comprehensive plan. The role of the committee would be to advise on the planning process and products for each phase, help ensure diversity of perspectives and engagement is achieved, and serve as ambassadors to the plan with the broader public through helping disseminate communications and promoting engagement. The committee will meet approximately 5 times between October 2020 and autumn 2021. If you are interested in serving as a member, or would like to suggest a representative to serve on the NCC@2050 Stakeholder Advisory Committee, please contact us at NCC2050@newcastlede.gov.
