Captain Dawn E. Gulezian, NRP was appointed to the New Castle County Emergency Medical Service in 1986 as an Emergency Medical Technician. She was initially trained as a Cardiac Rescue Technician before completing her paramedic training at the Medical Center of Delaware Paramedic Training Program in 1987.
Captain Gulezian was promoted to the rank of Paramedic Corporal in 2004, and has served as a Field Training Officer for the EMS Division. Captain Gulezian was one of the first group of EMS personnel to be promoted to the newly created rank of Paramedic Sergeant in 2005. She was promoted to the rank of EMS Lieutenant in 2014 and EMS Captain in December 2015.
Captain Gulezian has received several official commendations, including three Unit Letters of Commendation, three Distinguished Unit Citations, an official tribute from the Office of the County Executive, and a Pre-hospital Sudden Cardiac Arrest Save Citation.
Captain Gulezian is a graduate of the West Point Command and Leadership Academy offered by the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police. She is the project lead for the planning and delivery of the Delaware Resuscitation Academy since November 2015.
